We used Day 3 to explore Mistake Lake (just East and above the Upper Titcomb Lakes) and the surrounding area.  Our primary objective, though, was to take a day-hike to the lower part of Dinwoody Pass.  We knew that we would be navigating around the edge of Titcomb Lakes in the dark with headlamps the next morning, and wanted to check out the route -- most of the trail was swampy or under the snow.
Day 3  Exploration Day
Looking at Dinwoody Pass from the North end of Upper Titcomb Lakes.  Doesn't look too bad up there and we're definitely getting excited about tomorrow morning and our FIRST look at Gannett Peak!

Diamox Test . . .

Jim had experienced a little nausea on other high points (anything above 9,000 ft.). He tried Diamox on this trip and it worked perfectly.
After we returned from our day-hike, Joe and Ed, who we had met earlier, stopped by and took a group photo of Jim, Joel and Dan.
